Why does the Essilor Mr Blue 2.0 show an error when the drill-hole is smaller than the fitted bit?

The answer

The Mr Blue 2.0 has 1 mm and 0.8 mm drill bits, and it displays an error if a drilling point is smaller than the installed bit. Change to the correct bit or increase the drilling-point diameter; the available hole range is 0.8 to 3 mm in 0.05 mm steps.

The machine compares the requested drilling diameter with the bit currently mounted in the GMD module. A request smaller than the installed bit cannot be completed by simply continuing the job.

  • The available drill bits are 1 mm and 0.8 mm.
  • If the requested point is smaller than the installed bit, the edger displays an error message.
  • Install the other bit when the requested diameter requires it, or modify the drilling-point diameter.
  • The general hole-diameter range is 0.8 to 3 mm, with a modification step of 0.05 mm.

In automatic drilling, the machine calculates the angle from the lens curve. In customized drilling, the diameter and angle can be modified for each supplied drilling point, but the selected diameter must still be compatible with the fitted bit.
