The answer
The first threshold shows a maintenance icon, the second adds the message “Maintenance is needed. Have you contacted your service technician?”, and the third means at least one spindle has reached 100% wear and must be replaced immediately.

The small-tools module uses three escalating wear thresholds. The first is an indication, the second is an alarm requiring maintenance attention, and the third warns that normal operation is no longer assured.
- First threshold: the maintenance icon appears beside the small maintenance-access button.
- Second threshold: the start-up alarm reads
Maintenance is needed. Have you contacted your service technician?; the icon flashes and appears on the worn spindle. - Third threshold: start-up displays
Module maintenance needed urgently. Please contact your support technician.and each cycle launch can display the continuation warning.
At the third threshold, at least one spindle has reached 100% wear and must be replaced immediately. The manual distinguishes spindle wear from replaceable small tools such as the mill bit and drill bit.
