Replace the 0.8 mm drill bit every 250 holes and the 1.0 mm drill bit every 500 holes. Installing a new bit resets the wear statistics; changing diameter or cleaning the bit in place does not.

The two drill-bit sizes have different wear thresholds:

Use the drill-bit maintenance menu from the edger work screen. Select the diameter installed or to be installed, then select the operation. The manual distinguishes three cases:
- Installing a new drill bit resets the wear statistics to zero.
- Replacing it with a different diameter does not reset the statistics.
- Cleaning the bit in place does not reset the statistics.
The chuck must always contain a tool, so the maintenance operation must finish with a drill bit installed or with the specified replacement tool fitted.
