Why can’t I access High-base bevel on the Essilor Mr Blue 2.0?

The answer

High-base bevel is not accessible while the Step bevel tool is installed. Remove or change the installed tool as required, because the manual treats Step bevel and High-base bevel as mutually unavailable tool configurations.

The Mr Blue 2.0 uses the installed GMD tooling to determine which finishing functions can be selected. Installing the Step bevel tool makes the High-base bevel function unavailable.

  • The manual explicitly identifies High-base bevel as non-accessible when the step bevel tool is in place.
  • Step bevel itself requires the Step bevel wheel to be mounted.
  • High-base bevel cannot be performed on Trivex or glass lenses, independently of the tool restriction.

Do not try to solve this by changing only the on-screen finish selection. The physical tool configuration must match the finish you want to produce. After changing the tool, return to the work screen and confirm that the required finish icon is available before calling up the lens shape.
