What is the fixed Circle Scan diameter on the Topcon 3D OCT-2000?

The answer

The Topcon 3D OCT-2000 Circle Scan uses a fixed scan length of Diameter 3.4mm. The scan follows the circumference defined by the selected center coordinate and radius.

Circle Scan is defined by a center and radius, but the manual states that its scan length is fixed rather than initially adjustable like the length of Line Scan. The path is the circumference shown in the scan range.

  • Path: circumference.
  • Definition: given center coordinate and radius.
  • Scan length: Diameter 3.4mm, fixed.

In glaucoma photography mode, the manual also describes an optic-disc auto-search function. In the Preview display, the corrected circle is overlaid on the color fundus image. That function is separate from the fixed diameter specification and is described in the instrument-body instruction manual.
