Vacuum Response changes how quickly the system reaches the commanded aspiration level: 1 is fastest and 5 is slowest. It does not set the maximum vacuum level.

Vacuum Response controls the time required to reach the desired aspiration level. The manual lists five settings: 1 is the fastest response, followed by 2, 3, and 4, while 5 is the slowest.
This setting should not be confused with the vacuum limit or maximum vacuum setting. Vacuum Response changes the response curve or speed of reaching the commanded level; the maximum setting determines the upper vacuum level available to the mode or phase. The manual says Vacuum Response can be changed through the programming interface or the Fluidics More Screen.
When troubleshooting aspiration behavior, a slow rise to the selected vacuum does not necessarily mean that the maximum vacuum setting is too low. Check the Vacuum Response value first, especially if the selected level is eventually reached but takes longer than expected.
