IQV is the Triton's quantitative image-quality value for tomograms. The practical cutoff is 40: an IQV of 40 or higher indicates proper image quality for analysis or other processing. An IQV below 40 does not necessarily prevent the software from performing analysis, but the manual says the reliability of the result is reduced, so the tomogram is not applicable for analysis.
Use the displayed IQV when deciding whether to repeat a scan rather than relying only on how bright or recognizable the live image looks. If only poor-quality images are obtained, the manual directs the operator to contact the dealer or TOPCON. This threshold applies to the tomogram's image-quality evaluation, not to a fundus photograph's visual appearance or to the flash-level setting.
