What is the difference between CON. and NOR. in NIDEK TONOREF II MEAS MODE?

The answer

In the NIDEK TONOREF II parameter 4. MEAS MODE, CON. keeps fogging throughout a serial AR measurement, while NOR. fogs the patient’s view before each measurement even when the start button remains pressed. Use CON. for short fixation and NOR. for patients who accommodate easily.

4. MEAS MODE changes the fogging method during serial AR measurement; it does not select the number of measurements or activate AI mode. The two options are:

SettingEffect
CON.Fogging is maintained throughout the serial measurement.
NOR.The patient’s view is fogged for each measurement, even when the start button is held down.

The manual says CON. is useful for children who do not fixate their eyes for very long. It says NOR. is useful for patients who accommodate their eyes easily. The measurement count remains a separate setting: 6. AR CONTINUE controls how many AR measurements are made.
